How an MRU works
The MRU or Mobile Response Unit, provides many of the benefits of using R2S without having to purchase the hardware and software involved. Employed on a case-by-case basis, using an experienced forensic crime-scene recording team, an MRU will provide a case profile with minimum delay and maximum efficiency.
On call 24 hours a day, the MRU remains fully prepared to respond quickly to your requests for assistance. A team of two or three will typically arrive at the scene with all necessary equipment and PPE. They will attend any required briefings and, in turn, brief those present on the R2S system and the process involved in recording the scene.
It takes just 5-10 minutes to capture a 360° high-definition spherical image and 10 minutes later, investigating officers can view this via a remote laptop or PC. Further sphericals can be taken and linked using on-screen hotspots. Collected evidence, photographs, maps, plans, notes and audio visual material can also be assembled and linked to the sphericals. At the end of the day, the MRU will provide a CD or DVD of the initial case and then continue to update this with new data and information provided by the investigating team. We will assist with digitising and enhancing material, producing plans and creating 2D or 3D computer animated graphics or models, where required.
Whether it's a new case or a cold case investigation, the MRU will work with you to provide the level of support you need from start to finish.
